For years, Natalie Vonlanthen has been trying to convince anyone who’d listen that there’s more to cheerleading than leg kicks, pom poms, pearly white teeth and skirts. Somewhere along the way, though, the Mississaugan gave up trying to win over cynics and decided to let her pupils do the talking — through their intricate routines.
